DC Metro wedding films, made with care and craft.
Blue Haven Studios is a Washington DC wedding videographer and cinematographer team making cinematic wedding films for couples across the District, Northern Virginia, the Maryland suburbs, and the broader DC Metro. We shoot every wedding the way we'd shoot a narrative film — clean camerawork, real planning, honest editing, and sound design that doesn't cut out during your vows.
The DC Metro is one of the most underrated wedding regions in the country. Historic embassies, rowhouse gardens, rooftop receptions overlooking the Capitol, riverside venues on the Potomac, Northern Virginia estates, and quiet backyard weddings in Arlington — there's enormous variety here, and every kind of day deserves a film that actually captures its specific personality. Our job is to not deliver the same wedding video twice.
What goes into a Blue Haven wedding film
Every DC wedding film we make starts with real prep. We talk with you about which parts of the day matter most, who the key family members are, what the vibe of the reception is going to be, what music you'd want the edit to feel like. Then, on the day itself, we run multi-camera ceremony coverage with dedicated audio on the officiant and both of you, capture toasts with wireless lav mics, and fill the day with observational b-roll that becomes the texture of the final film.
In post, we color grade everything for a cohesive cinematic look and edit to licensed music — meaning your film won't get muted or taken down when you share it. You get a highlight film you can show off the week it's delivered, and optionally a feature film you'll watch in its entirety on anniversaries.
Drone coverage across DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland
We include FAA-compliant aerial drone coverage on our Haven and Premiere collections. DC itself has strict airspace restrictions, so we plan drone shots with intention at venues where it's permitted — the surrounding Northern Virginia and Maryland countryside, historic estates in Loudoun and Montgomery County, and waterfront venues outside the District. We use drones with purpose, not as a gimmick. A few well-planned aerial shots do more for a film than a hundred random ones.
Where we film
We travel throughout Washington DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Tysons, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville, Loudoun County, Annapolis, and the broader DC Metro. A handful of venues we love filming at: The Line DC, Meridian House, Dumbarton House, Anderson House, District Winery, Hay-Adams, Rust Manor House, and Long View Gallery, plus the museums, embassies, rowhouses, and rooftop venues that make DC such a distinctive region to film in.
